Area of Concentration: ACCOUNTING MEASUREMENT AND DISCLOSURE
This area involves studies and research related to the measurement and recognition of elements that affect the assets, liabilities, equity, gains, and losses of entities, as well as the impact of disclosing this information on organizations and users of accounting.
Research Line: IMPACTS OF ACCOUNTING ON ORGANIZATIONS AND SOCIETY
This research line encompasses studies related to the measurement and disclosure of accounting information and its impact on the decision-making process of internal and external users. It also involves research on the teaching and learning process applied in the training of accounting professionals and its impact on the socio-economic development of the country.
Course Objectives:
To promote scientific development in Accounting and related fields by creating and disseminating knowledge through high-quality research;
To train educators and researchers to develop teaching and research activities in Accounting and related fields at Brazilian Higher Education Institutions, positively impacting society through professional training;
To enable professionals to excel in various institutions, in areas that require cutting-edge knowledge in Accounting and related fields, forming thinkers and leaders for the public, private, and third sectors, meeting institutional demands (regulatory bodies and professional representative entities);
To contribute to the socio-economic development of the Northeast region (and consequently, the country) by socializing and integrating knowledge in Accounting into various economic contexts and sectors.
